Car Videos to Brighten Your Weekend: the Weekend Racing Edition

This week's theme is all about racing. There are two major events this weekend: the 12 Hours of Sebring and Australian Grand Prix. Many of the videos come from this weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring and a fair number of them are vintage Formula 1 videos.

If you choose just one video to watch from this collection, please make it this one. This is the final lap of the 2007 12 Hours of Sebring. Audi wins the race at the beginning of the video, but the GT2 cars get one more lap. Jaime Melo in a Ferrari is leading Jörg Bergmeister in a Porsche by 2 or 3 car lengths. Fireworks are going off as these two guys knife fight to the finish. Melo makes a mistake early on that lets Bergmeister get close, and from there it is some of the most competitive driving that you will ever see.

Here is a touching video that the BBC put together to preview the upcoming Formula 1 season. It cobbles together a lot of great footage to get you excited for the new season.

This video was just posted today of the Level 5 Motorsports LMP2 team who have been among the fastest in their class all week at Sebring. The video starts out talking to the drivers and then moves to on-track action.

Here we have a compilation of some of the best overtakes from Formula 1 from 2011.

Here is another great battle from Sebring. This time it is a fight between the Audi and Peugeot in the 2009 race.

The last video has nothing to do with Formula 1 or Sebring, but it is weird enough to deserve being posted. From what I can tell, the driver in this video is forced off twice by separate cars in a spec Radical race. The second off spins him putting him near the rear of the pack. The red mist descends, and this guy races through the entire pack.
