is branching out and has created a chair for Italian furniture maker Poltrona Frau.

The design for the chair is called “Luft,” the German word for air. When you look at it, the most obvious feature is the curving piece of aluminum down the side that de Silva used to symbolize the Audi’s brand lightweight construction.

“The armchair combines the handcrafted precision of Poltrona Frau with high-tech from Audi design,” said de Silva.

The chair is on sale now on sale, and each one will be handmade by Poltrona Frau’s craftspeople.

“The unique thing about this project is the fusion of Poltrona Frau’s invaluable handcrafting expertise with the research, the experimental approach and the conceptual methods of Audi design,” said de Silva.

The chair would not work unless it was comfortable, and the design is supposed to be beautiful but still be a place where the owner can relax. The aluminum traces along the side of the chair following the backrest to the feet and forming the base. The armrests and seat form another arc and are made from Poltrona Frau’s proprietary Pelle Frau leather offered in 96 colors.

Prices for the chair start at €5,150.
