. Now, it says that the limited run of cars will be priced around €3 million each, and it will build five or six cars.

"We are considering a very limited run of five to six units," said Pininfarina CEO Silvio Angori.

According to designer Fabio Filippini, buyers in the EU will be required to wear a helmet when driving the car because it has no windshield. The production versions may be offered with a small windshield to get around this rule.

The Sergio was built to celebrate the life of designer and CEO Sergio Pininfarina who died in July. Sergio designed cars for the company from starting in the 1960s. His final design to see production was the 2003 Maserati QuattroporteQuattroporteMaserati QuattroporteItaly, 2003 > present3 photos

"Everyone at Pininfarina worked at 110 percent of his or her capabilities because they felt this was the best way to pay a tribute to him," said Paolo Pininfarina, Sergio's son.
