have been revealed by the German company's President and CEO Dieter Zetsche. The two companies have agreed that their involvment will be subtle and low key.

badging for using the engines bought in from the German premium automaker. This excludes a possible ‘Powered by AMG’ badge that might have been used in the next generations of Vantage, DB9 and Vanquish marketing.

"A subtle involvement with Aston Martin is better for us. Our customers will know about it without us making too much of the link. That is enough for us," confirmed Zetsche.

Zetsche also denied that Mercedes-Benz might have influence in directing Aston’s future product plans.

"It is up to Aston Martin to make specific product plans. We have only just agreed a deal in which we announced we would share engines and electrical components," he said.

However there is a possibility that Mercedes and Aston Martin may in the future share the German company's alloy chassis architecture,as an evolution of the technology sharing deal. With its currently platform aging Aston Martin will need to update in order to continue to compete with Bentley, Ferrari and Porsche and a completely new chassis would mean a huge investment. Mercedes could be a more profitable option.
