closing the Aulnay factory will save the company €108 million in fixed costs.
This savings does not include PSA's lay offs of workers from other factories that it also planned. The company planned to cut 8,000 workers. Many of these jobs would come from closing the Aulnay factory in 2014, but the rest would come from other PSA factories.
The company claims that the cuts will reduce manufacturing costs by €200 to €250 per car. In the first six months of 2012, PSA has lost €700 million.
