is reporting its 2013 sales and says that globally its sales rose 3.1% to 2,628,208 cars and light commercial vehicles compared to 2012.

Even in a shrinking European market, Renault Group sold 1,301,864 vehicles in the region, a 2.4% increase over last year. It also grew its market share by 0.4% to 9.5%. Renault is also the European market leader in EV market share at 37% and sales at 15,048 units.

Outside of Europe, Renault Group sold 1,326,344 vehicles, a 3.8% increase, and it gained market share in all regions. Brazil and Russia are Renault Group’s second largest and third largest markets respectively, and they show that the company is growing outside of its traditional European focus.

Renault is predicting that the world auto market will grow by 2% in 2014. Europe and France individually are predicted to grow by 1% each.
