is prepping for its biggest year of factory racing in its history with the 919 Hybrid and in the World Endurance Championship and two 911 RSR cars in the Tudor United Sports Car Championship. It also has a team of 20 factory drivers, the largest in its history.

Porsche has not yet announced when the 919 Hybrid will make its racing debut but guarantees that it will race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its two-car WEC team includes drivers Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas, Neel Jani, Brendon Hartley, Marc Lieb and Mark Webber.

"To continue leading the way in the future and to merge sportiness with sustainability, we need to keep learning. Maximum efficiency in energy consumption is the directive of the new WEC regulations for the works-entered LMP1 prototypes – and that is also the direction for the automobile future,” said Wolfgang Hatz, head of research and development at Porsche.

Team Manthey, which Porsche just bought a majority stake in, will administer the two 911 RSR racecars in the WEC this season. The team will include driver Frederic Makowiecki, and the other drivers will be announced later.

Porsche North America will run the two 911 RSR cars that are racing in TUSCC that will start the season on January 25 at the Daytona 24 Hours. The driver squad includes Patrick Long, Michael Christensen, Nick Tandy and Richard Lietz.

In addition to the factory-backed cars in national and international racing series. Porsche will continue to sponsor the national Porsche Cup series around the world and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup that runs as a support race for Formula 1.
