in the LM GTE-Pro class.

"We’ve enjoyed some past success at Le Mans, so you want to not only show well, but also run competitively on the track. The whole motorsports world is watching and it’s extremely exciting for us to be part of it and a big challenge to do well," said Beth Paretta, marketing director at SRT.

Marc Goossens, Dominik Farnbacher, Ryan Dalziel with drive the #53 car, and Jonathan Bomarito, Kuno Wittmer and Tommy Kendall will drive the #93 car. All of the drivers in the #53 car have 24 Hours of Le Mans experience. Only Kendall has raced at Le Mans in the #93 car.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans will be the only World Endurance Championship race that the Viper will race in this year.

The return to Le Mans will also be the Viper's return to Europe. The GTS-R began racing mid-way through the American Le Mans Series season last year. It raced in four of the ten ALMS races last year and scored seven championship points. It is competing in the full ALMS season this year and has scored 40 championship points so far to put it in fourth place of five manufacturers. There are six points separating the bottom three teams - Porsche, SRT and Ferrari.

Factory-supported Vipers won the GTS class at Le Mans three consecutive times from 1998 to 2000.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans will run from June 22 to 23.
