in its lineup.

"This all-new Acura TLX is the perfect blend of style and muscle with its elegant, well-proportioned exterior that cloaks the true sport sedan chassis and powertrain beneath. The sporty characteristics that customers found appealing in the TSX are even more pronounced in this aggressive new TLX,” said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president at American HondaHondaHondaJapan, 1948 > present102 models

While no actual pictures of the car exist yet, Acura is promising a sportier car with two direct injected powertrain options, new transmissions and a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Acura have no specific technical details, but it claims that the new car will “feature more emotional styling with tidier, sports sedan proportions,” which hints that it may be smaller than the current TL.

The production version of the TLX will launch in the second half of 2014 in the United States. It was designed at Acura's Los Angeles Design Studio and will be built at Honda’s factory in Marysville, Ohio, replacing the current TL.

Discontinuing the TSX will trim the Acura range down to three sedans and three SUVs.
