Mercedes-AMG unveils GT C Coupé at NAIAS

has launched at this year's North American International Motor Show (NAIAS) the long awaited Coupé variant of the GT C Roadster. The brand also revealed the updated versions of the GT and GT S.

Basically the GT C CoupéGT C CoupéAMG GT C CoupéGermany, 2017 > present is a hardtop version of the GT C RoadsterGT C RoadsterAMG GT C RoadsterGermany, 2016 > present, revealed last September at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The sports car unveiled in Detroit features a reworked twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine with 557hp and 680Nm, coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Different weights but same performance levels

Although it weigths 35kg more (1660kg) than the GT C Roadster, the Coupé version has the same performance levels of the open top variant. The GT C Coupé sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 317km/h. The announced combined consumption is 9.6l/100km, with 224g/km of CO2 emissions.

GT C Coupé Edition 50

When it reaches the market, the GT C Coupé will be sold as Edition 50GT C Coupé Edition 50AMG GT C Coupé Edition 50Germany, 2017 > present in order to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of AMG. It will come in two exclusive paint finishes. Chrome highlights are featured in the side skirts, front splitter, grille inlets, front splitter, diffuser and tailpipes.
 
This limited edition also gets an exclusive interior design silver pearl and black nappa leather with grey stitching, an AMG Performance steering wheel and Edition 50 emblems on the headrests.

AMG GT and GT S with more power in 2017

At NAIAS AMG also revealed more powerful versions of the GT and GT S. The GT now features a 476hp output and gets an additional 30Nm of torque to a total of 630Nm. The output on the GT S has also grown by 12hp to 522hp, while torque was increased by 20Nm to 670Nm.
