"Karl is a short name, easy to remember, which reflects the Opel brand values: German, emotional and accessible," explained Chief Marketing Officer of Opel, Tina Müller.
With Karl, ADAM and the new generation Corsa, the brand will have the strongest ever offer in the subcompact segment. Karl will measure 3.68 meters and will have a five-door body and five seats. The new Opel Karl is positioned as the entry model in the Opel range and will be a practical car, according to the information put forward by the German brand.
The Karl nampelate pays tribute to one of the sons of Adam Opel, founder of Opel in 1862. While Adam made the company the largest bicycle manufacturer in Germany, his sons Carl, Wilhelm and Friedrich ventured in automobile production from 1898 and launched the first model of the brand next year.
