The new chassis would use carbon fiber for the floor and center tunnel, and aluminum would be used for the rest. The use of composites for body panels could save even more weight

Audi has completed the exterior of a new factory for the R8 in Neckarsulm and is in the process of installing machinery now. It will be able to build the car from start to finish.
