Styling is brand new for the newest generation with a gaping lower grill, more dynamic styling and LED running lights with projector headlights. The new Avalon is 2in shorter, 0.5in more narrow, 1in lower and over 100lbs lighter. The suspension and chassis are both brand new that offers a better ride and better straight-line stability. It comes standard with 17in wheels with 18in options.

Toyota has also given the interior of the new Avalon many upgrades. Toyota has increased headroom in the new car thanks to lower seats. Despite the smaller size, cargo capacity has been increased 1.6ft³. Toyota has placed more sound deadening in the new car to make it quieter and added acoustic glass. The car also comes with Toyota's Entune system that includes a 12v outlet and USB port.
