This Toyota iQ2 1.0 was launched in 2010. It is the 1st generation of the microcar model. With an output of 68 hp at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 91 nm, the version drives on a 996cc straight 3 engine combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. When compared to other versions in this generation, this iQ2 1.0 is fitted with the smallest engine. This hatchback accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 14.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 150 km/h. The car has a transmission with 5 speeds and manual gearbox with front wheel drive. It features an average fuel consumption of 4.3 l/100km that translates into 99 g/km of CO2 emissions. This Toyota is the most environmentally friendly out of the range, emitting least CO2. This Toyota features rack & pinion steering, at the front it wears disc brakes and at the rear drum brakes. It has a boot volume of 32 l. Although it can be extended by lowering the back seats.

The Toyota iQ was first presented at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show as a concept vehicle. In 2008 at the Geneva Auto Show it was introduced and set to go into production and reach the european market in January 2009.
