Debuted in 2010, the Toyota iQ 1.0 belongs to the 1st generation of the iQ model. With a price of £10.278, it is the lowest priced in the range at launch. Powered by a 998cc engine, this version has a power output of 68 hp. This iQ 1.0 reaches the 100km/h mark in 14.95 seconds at a top speed of 150 km/h. It has a manual transmission and front wheel drive. With a combined fuel consumption of 4.4 l/100km, it emits 99 g/km of CO2. This Toyota iQ is the most environmentally friendly out of the range, emitting least CO2. It has a boot volume of 32 l. Although it can be extended by lowering the back seats.

The Toyota iQ was first presented at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show as a concept vehicle. In 2008 at the Geneva Auto Show it was introduced and set to go into production and reach the european market in January 2009. The iQ is available with a 5- or 6- speed manual transmission and models with the 1.33 litre engine already include start/stop system.
