The Vauxhall Insignia is a large family car marketed since 2008 by the British manufacturer, and is a re-badged version of the Opel Insignia. The Insignia is the successor to the Opel Vectra. In North America and China it is sold as Buick Regal. In Chile, the Insignia is badged as Chevrolet Vectra.
Insignia is the first production car with a dual-function frontal camera with traffic sign recognition. In 2009 the Insignia was voted European Car of the Year.
It is available as 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon. The vehicle has a front engine, front wheel drive layout and it is also available with four wheel drive. In 2009 the Insignia OPC, a high-performance version of the Insignia was launched. It is powered by a 2.8 litre turbocharged V6 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and Saab's active all-wheel drive system.

Founded in 1857 by Alexander Wilson, Vauxhall was originally called Alex Wilson and Company and it was a pump and marine engine manufacturer which only started manufacturing cars in 1903. The company's second name was Vauxhall Iron Works but it was again changed in 1907 to the current name Vauxhall Motors.
