Zafira was released in 1999. This compact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) is also sold by Opel in Europe (except UK), South Africa and parts of Asia, and by Chevrolet in Mexico and Chile. The second generation, Zafira B, was introduced in 2005. The 4-door minivan is available with 5 different engines: 1.6l, 1.8l, 2.0 turbo, 2.2l and a 1.9l diesel, and also with three gearboxes: 4-speed automatic and 5- or 6-speed manual.

Founded in 1857 by Alexander Wilson, Vauxhall was originally called Alex Wilson and Company and it was a pump and marine engine manufacturer which only started manufacturing cars in 1903. The company's second name was Vauxhall Iron Works but it was again changed in 1907 to the current name Vauxhall Motors.
