Société des Automobiles Avions Voisin was founded by Gabriel Voisin in Issy-les-Moulineaux, Seine, France, in 1918. Gabriel Voisin was a former aircraft pilot and manufacturer, hence the name of the Company. Voisins were luxury, exclusive automobiles with an outstanding style and equipped with advanced technology. Automobiles Avions Voisin fell victim of a fire followed by the Great Depression. In 1936 the founder lost control over the company, which closed its doors in 1937. Voisin won several speed records between 1927 and 1929.
