Volkswagen’s Beetle Dune concept unveiled at the 2014 NAIAS shows what VW could do with a Beetle off-roader.

The Beetle Dune gets an off-road look with a suspension raised by 50mm and 19in wheels with off-road tires. It also has a ski rack mounted over the rear hatch for added style. It is painted Arizona yellow-orange metallic. The wheel arches are added in two parts with a 1.5mm plastic piece that attaches the arch to the larger wheel arch housings that widen the body by a total of 24mm on each side. The added cladding in the front and rear increases the length by 12mm. The body also has brushed aluminum sill plates on either side and chrome-plated underbody protection.

At the front, the Beetle Dune has a black honeycomb grill with LED fog lights and LED turn signals.

The powertrain includes a 2.0 TFSI engine with 208hp (210ps) with six-speed DSG transmission powering the front wheels with a limited-slip differential.
