Volkswagen Passat (Germany, 2005-2010)

The sixth Passat saw the engines, running gear, body reconfigured. Its design shows stylish lines and a brand face that had a chrome insignia radiator grille at that time. The petrol engines output between 75 kW / 102 PS and 220 kW / 300 PS in the Passat R36 introduced in 2007. The turbodiesels develop between 77 kW / 105 PS and 125 kW / 170 PS. Optional DSG gearboxes are offered for the first time; the 4MOTION drive system is also in the programme

In 2007, for example, Volkswagen presents the first Passat BlueMotion, which consumes 5.1 l/100 km (equivalent to 136 g/km CO2). The second version of the Passat BlueMotion follows in 2009; it uses 4.4 litres per 100 km (114 g/km CO2). Debuting nearly in parallel is the first Passat BlueTDI, which - thanks to its SCR catalytic converter - fulfils the limits of the Euro-6 emissions standard.

The Passat CC targets entirely new buyer groups since 2008 as a four-door coupe - especially in Europe and the USA.
