In 2010 Volvo Cars and Polestar presented a street car prototype produced by Polestar’s racing engineers and designers: the Volvo C30 Polestar Performance Concept Prototype.

Based on Polestar’s experience of developing the Volvo C30 into a race car, this prototype reflects the know-how that Polestar has on the C30's aerodynamic and driving properties. The Volvo C30 Polestar Concept Prototype is powered by a T5 2.5-litre  engine.

With the Volvo C30 Polestar Concept Prototype, Polestar’s aim is to continue to improve the driving characteristics of the standard C30 and to show the connection between the racing cars and the Polestar Performance products. The products are sold through Volvos dealers on several markets and don’t alter the certified fuel consumption and emissions.

Polestar partnered with Volvo for several years and raced with the 850, S40, and S60. In 2009, Polestar won the STCC for Volvo Cars with the fully developed C30.

The car had its first public appearance at the Gothenburg Motor Show on April 22-25, 2010.
