Launched in 1996 the Volvo C70 is a luxury automobile manufactured by Volvo Cars. Between 1997 and 2005 it was sold as both coupé and softtop convertible versions. Since 2006 the model is only marketed as a retractable hardtop convertible.

In 2005 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volvo presented the second generation of the C70, based on the S40 platform, designed by John Kinsey and built by Pininfarina Sverige AB, a joint venture between Pininfarina and Volvo.
