about

Volvo's Concept You is a concept for a future luxury car that borrows the double step hood and fastback from Volvo's first post-war models the PV444 and PV544.

Volvo Cars CEO Stefan Jacoby said that the Concept You, “gives a good indication of what you can expect from our next large sedan.” So expect to actually see a vehicle that uses these design queues.

Volvo says that this is a sister car to the Universe Concept that it showed at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year. With the Universe Concept, Volvo interviewed Chinese drivers about what they are looking for in a luxury car. For the Concept You, Volvo did the same thing with European drivers, which is why the car got the fastback rear end.

Volvo did not go into details about what powers the Concept You, but it is nice to see the company modernizing and referencing its classic designs in its newest models.

Volvo AB owned Volvo Cars until 1999.
