Jaguar XJ (United Kingdom, 1968-present)

Jaguar XJ is a luxury saloon first launched in 1968. The "XJ" designation was derived from the car's internal code name "Experimental Jaguar". Since 1968 the car has developed over several generations and since 2009 is marketed in its current (fourth) generation.

The latest model was launched in 2009 in London and was designed by Ian Callum. It features a new exterior design, with longer and wider dimensions, showing similarities with the Jaguar XF model. In particular the rear design of the model is a departure from traditional Jaguar looks and has caused some controversy. The XJ is traditionally available as short and long-wheelbase versions and offers an engine line-up including the 5-litre petrol V8 normally aspirated or supercharged as well as a twin-turbo 3-litre diesel.
