Tokyo Gas and Electric Manufacturing Company, previously called Hitachi Aviation, began in 1952 producing engines for motorcycles. It established itself as an engine producer of small two-cycle engines and merged with Fuji Automobile. Together, they built the microcar Fuji Cabin that is one of very few three-wheeled microcars built in Japan.
