The Société Française des Automobiles Corré was founded by the Cyclist Jean Marie Corré in 1901 in Levallois-Perret, Paris.  In 1907 company was sold to the family Lestienne who decided to incorporate the family crest (a unicorn) into the logo and change the name to Corre-La Licorne.  The Company  soon became one of the most important French automobile builders. After WWI Corre-La Licorne moved to Courbevoie and changed their name to La Licorne. La Licorme were sports cars that raced in the Tour de France in 1912 and 1913 and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, coming in 8th and 9th in 1925 and in 10th in 1926. After a golden period in the 1920’s the financial situation of the Company deteriorated in the 1930’s and saw its demise in 1949.
