Pininfarina is mulling building a limited run of Cambianos.
"We are evaluating the potential for companies and private buyers interested is a high-performance, low-emission luxury model such as the Cambiano," Pininfarina CEO Silvio Angori.
Pininfarina plans to build fewer than 100 Cambianos, but it is not sure exactly how many. If it built 10, then each would cost €1 million, and if it built 75, each would cost €400,000.
The Cambiano was a range-extended hybrid concept shown by Pininfarina at the Geneva Motor Show last week that uses electric motors mounted in each wheel. Each motor produces 60kW normally and 150kW peak, which gives a total peak power figure of 500kW, or 680hp. It claims the range is 800km or 205km in pure electric mode, and it accelerates to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds. However, due to its range-extended hybrid system, the Cambiano produces 45g/km of CO2.
Styling looks like a two-door, luxury coupe, but it hides a large, gullwing door to allow for four passengers.
