In spring 2011 Porsche launches a special edition based on the 345 hp (254 kW) Carrera with a 3.6 litre engine. The 911 Carrera Black Edition features a significant technology package that is available in both the Coupé and Cabriolet variants.
The 911 Black Edition is limited to a total of 1,911 units and is tagged with the same price as the Carrera basic models. The market launch is scheduled for April 2011.
The special edition is painted in plain black as standard, with basalt black metallic also available as an option. The colour highlights remain to the 19 inch 911 Turbo II bi-colour wheels. The black, four-piston aluminium monobloc fixed calipers are visible thanks to the unobstructed view of the brakes provided by the rims. The special edition features a "Black Edition’s" black lettering on the stainless steel door entry guards.
