Alvis produced almost 22.000 cars during its 37 years of life. In 1919, T. G. John founded a car company with its name. He was then approached by Geoffrey de Freville with a innovative 4 cylinder car. In 1920, Alvis was born and in the next year, the first Alvis model, a 10/30, was launched. In 1965, Rover took over Alvis and two years later, the production was discontinued. The red triangle brand rights have been changed hands many times and it’s currently owned by BAE Systems.
