Audi Adds Ability to Search Gas Prices to Audi Connect

continues to add functions to its Audi Connect in-car online service. Its latest feature allows drivers to search for nearby fueling stations, and it lists the prices for fuel. The app is available in any car with Audi Connect but only works in Germany at the moment.

Audi calls the app simply Fuel Prices, and it gives up-to-date pricing on the fuel at nearby stations. It has access to the car’s GPS system to know its location, and it connects to a database from German government’s Market Transparency Unit to find local prices.

The app allows drivers to sort by price or distance, and it will read out the options so that the driver is not distracted. Once a fueling station is selected, it is added as a waypoint in the navigation.

While the app only works in Germany at the moment, if the databases were available, it could be ported by Audi to other countries as well.
