Sportback to the Paris Motor Show on September 27. Sales for both cars will begin next year in Europe. 

The Sportback is the five-door version of the A3 with a slightly longer wheelbase and extra side window at the rear. 

The S3 will use VW's new turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with 276hp. To set off the design it will get the standard lower grill, side sills and rear wing and rear diffuser. It will likely accelerate to 100km/h in 5.5 seconds. The S3 will initially only be available as a three-door, but a Sportback version will come eventually as well.
