Audi Sales Break 1 Million From January to August

has sold more than one million cars from January to August for the first time in its history. In the first eight months of the year, Audi has sold 1,030,450 cars, up 7.2% from the same period in the previous year. Its goal is to sell 1.5 million cars this year. For August, Audi sold 118,650 cars worldwide, 9.8% better than August 2012.

Regionally, North America and Asia are showing huge gains in August of 19.6% and 22.4% respectively. Europe did not do as well with sales falling 3.4% in August.

Audi is predicting that sales will only improve for the rest of the year. It is launching the A3 Sedan in Europe in September and introduced a new lineup of diesel models in the US that are showing early signs of success. Thirty-five percent of US orders have been for the diesel models since they were introduced.
