Audi shows big cars for smaller customers

After becoming the first car manufacturer ever to present at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Audi will make part of the event once again, bringing a selection of its products.

Audi will come to Nuremberg with a selection of model cars and new products from the Audi children’s world. For the 2011 Fair, the highlight at the Audi stand will be the the “Auto Union Type C e-tron study” with electric drive. The International Toy Fair will be open from February 3 to 8.

Audi is bringing the subject of electric mobility to Nuremberg in a fun way, by presenting a unique vehicle, an Auto Union Type C e-tron study. This car is based on the limited-edition pedal car model which is sold through quattro GmbH. With its 2,32m of length and 97 cm of width the hand-finished car is suitable for children and adults of up to 1.80 meters in height.

The car is powered by an electric motor that drives the rear wheels thanks to the energy supplied by a lithium-ion battery. It has a power output of 1.5 HP and torque of 40 Nm, which enables the toy car to reach a maximum speed of 30 km/h.

The battery that can be charged at a standard 230 volt household socket offers the little Audi e-tron a range of around 25 km, depending on the way it is driven. Charging takes about two hours.

Audi will also be bringing an exclusive soccer table to Nuremberg, which is a combination of functionality and design and uses materials, finish and technical workmanship to satisfy the highest standards. Each of the 20 tables that will be built initially will cost €12,900.

On the Audi stand quattro Gmbh will also be showing baby and children’s products. For example the racing bodysuit, the power/brake socks, the pit stop baby bottle and the mini sound absorber kit (pacifier), all products inspired in motorsport. Audi will also show a study of the successor model to the current “Audi Junior quattro” ride-on toy car in Nuremberg.

A 1:87 scale of the Wörthersee models of the Audi A1 will also be on display in the model car paternoster, joining the high-quality range of classic car-related toys: remote-controlled models, plush cars and the Audi motorsport bear.
