C7.R GTE-class racecar. While the car had been previously announced, this was the first time that it had been shown publicly.

The car raced in a camouflage livery with Corvette racer Tommy Milner behind the wheel.

Chevrolet's only statement about the car was on the Corvette Racing Twitter page where it said, "Surprise! The #Corvette C7.R did a couple test laps in Monterey today! #ALMS @almsnotes."

There is no word yet on what engine will power the car.

There will be Corvettes racing in two sports car classes next year. Corvette Racing will campaign the C7.R in the GTE-class and will likely race at Le Mans. Chevrolet-tuner Callaway will build the C7 Corvette GT3 for GT3-class racing.
