The second generation of MyLink is a major upgrade over the first generation. The system will link up with up to 10 devices with USB or Bluetooth, allow 60 favorite radio stations and have selectable personalities meaning that the icons of the operating system can be switched among Contemporary, Edge, Velocity and Main Street. The icons' function remains the same regardless of look. 

The system will also be compatible with Apple's Siri on the iPhone 4S and 5, but GM'sGMUnited States of America, 1998 > present8 models

Chevrolet has also improved the system's voice recognition system with better natural language understanding.

“MyLink in the new Impala provides our customers with a total driver experience. With the natural voice recognition, it’s like having a conversation with your vehicle," said Nina Mital, MyLink program manager.

The ergonomics have also been modified. The second generation of MyLink does not have to be used by a touch screen. It will also work with knobs or steering wheel-mounted controls. The layout is also now completely configurable to the user's liking. 

Chevrolet will offer MyLink with either 4.2in or 8in screens in its cars.
