The Race2Recovery Rally Team that is made almost entirely of injured British soldiers who will be racing in the Dakar Rally in January has become the first group to receive a grant from the Endeavour Fund, a Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
The Endeavour Fund will provide grants to UK injured soldiers to take part in sporting events to aid in their recovery.
"I am delighted that our Foundation is launching the Endeavour Fund. The Fund will support injured Servicemen and women in overcoming physical and psychological challenges with dignity, pride and determination. We must never forget the terrible price so many of our men and women in uniform have paid - and continue to pay - to keep us safe and free," said Prince Harry.

in North Africa and took part in a shorter rally in Egypt. The team also has funded from Land Rover.
"The financial backing that the Endeavour Fund is providing will enable us to realise our dreams of becoming the first disability team to compete in the Dakar Rally. Not only that, but the Foundation has recognised that our campaign goes further than just the racing activity, and that we're aiming to inspire other people who may be injured, sick or facing adversity," said Race2Recovery driver Captain Tony Harris.
Race2Recovery will race 4 Qt Wildcat's in Dakar, each with a driver and co-driver, and an 18-person team for mechanical and logistical support with two 8X8 trucks.
