Formula 1 team is preparing a detailed report about the circumstances surround test driver Maria de Villota's crash on July 3. The report should be ready in about 10 days. In addition to its own internal report, an independent, external investigation is also being prepared.
"We're now 100 per cent confident that the car was not to blame in the slightest," said team boss John Booth.
An early report indicates that de Villota may have had trouble finding the car's clutch lever located behind the steering wheel. The lever is only necessary when setting off and stopping. This test was the third time that de Villota had driven a Formula 1 car.
De Villota was recently transferred to a hospital in Madrid after spending 17 days in the hospital in the UK. She lost her eye as a result of the crash.
