Felipe Massa returned to the cockpit of a Formula One yesterday at Mugello. The Brazilian driver had shown the will to get back behind the wheel of a Formula 1 single-seater before the end of the year and got his chance while visiting Maranello for the traditional Christmas events over the weekend.
The Ferrari Corse Clienti department supported the opportunity providing Felipe with a F2007, which he drove in the afternoon, when the weather conditions at the “Autodromo del Mugello” enabled the Brazilian driver to go onto the track.
Massa drove about 30 laps before having to stop as it was getting dark. The Brazilian will stay on at Mugello today in the hope of completing more mileage.
“I’m happy that I could get into this car and it’s always a pleasure driving on a track like Mugello. Everything went well: it’s a pity that I could only drive in the afternoon. Let’s hope I can be back tomorrow!”
