After showing-off the MINAGI concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March, Mazda has revealed that a production model called the CX-5 is to be derived from it.
Details are very limited presently; all that has been revealed by the manufacturer is that the compact crossover SUV will be the first of Mazda’s next-gen products to merge SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY with KODO design. SKYACTIV is a new range of technologies from Mazda which includes new-generation engines, transmissions, body and chassis, while KODO is the manufacturer’s new design theme that premiered on the SHINARI concept car last year.
The CX-5 is to make its international debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September and will join the global Mazda line-up in 2012.
