but tuned for less power, and the carbon fiber MonoCell monocoque will also be shared with McLaren’s other cars. Styling will be more inspired by the P1, rather than the 12C. McLaren plans to start pricing for over $100,000 or €100,000.
Because the engine and chassis are shared among all of its cars, McLaren has already paid off the development costs of the P13, and they will start generating a profit for the company as soon as they go on sale. It says that the P13 has been part of its production plan since the earliest stages of the 12C and P1.
McLaren has carefully planned out the launch of the P13. Its factory only has the room to build two types of cars simultaneously. With McLaren able to build one of the 375 P1s each day, production of it will end, as soon as McLaren is ready to launch the P13.
