Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed to the Taggespiegel that the European Grand Prix in Valencia will not be on the calendar for 2013, and it will be replaced by the grand prix in New Jersey.
According to Ecclestone, Barcelona and Valencia will begin alternating races
"Valencia will not be there because they're alternating with Barcelona," said Ecclestone.
The race's organizers are on taking this lying down. It will attempt to begin a permanent part of the calendar again.
"Formula one is very important not only from an image point of view but also due to the economic impact, the creation of jobs and what that means for the Valencia region,” said secretary general in Valencia, Serafin Castellano.
