Porsche is celebrating 60 years of having clubs dedicated in its honor around the world. The first Porsche club was founded on May 26, 1952, by seven drivers in Westphalia, Germany. The club was called the Porsche Club Hohensyburg with the goal to "unite all Porsche drivers in friendship and comradeship."

The first Porsche club outside of Germany was the Porsche Club Belgium in 1953, and then came the Porsche Club of America in 1955, which is now the largest Porsche club in the world. The Porsche Club Great Britain came in 1961. Porsche recognizes 640 official Porsche clubs with approximately 181,000 members in 75 countries.

Porsche considers there clubs important because the members act as brand ambassadors to spread the message about the company. From May 26 to August 26, the Porsche Museum world will be celebrating the 60 year anniversary by displaying members' cars, photographs, documents and other exhibits.

The exhibit also includes a vote by the museum's visitors to decide on the most beautiful car owned by a Porsche club member. The 12 cars on display include: a Porsche 356356Porsche 356Germany, 1948 > 196533 versions
