Porsche Expanding into Africa and China in Next Decade

, hybrids and new Leipzig factory, and now it is time to focus on sales. The company says that it is going to reduce R&D investments next year in favor of expansion. It plans to enter 15 new markets by the end of the decade, mostly in North Africa.

"We're covering new markets where we have not been in yet. We're aiming to go into an additional 15 countries by the end of the decade,” said Bernhard Maier, Porsche’s head of sales.

The other sales focus is China, which has been trading back and forth with the United States as Porsche’s largest market. Sales there are up 15% in the first three quarters of the year. It plans to have 100 dealers operating in China by 2016, from 57 currently. China is the Panamera’s largest market and a very strong market for the CayenneCayenne Gen.2Porsche Cayenne Gen.2Germany, 2010 > 201727 versions
