Porsche Pavilion in Wolfsburg Wins “Automotive Brand Award 2012”

recently completed pavillion in the Autostadt in Wolfsburg has won the Automotive Brand Award 2012 in the architecture category from the German Design Council. The pavillion was opened on June 12 and was built by several German architecture firms. 

The design of the building is meant to evoke the roofline of Porsches like the 356356Porsche 356Germany, 1948 > 196533 versions

. It is a sweeping arch made from concrete with a stainless steel roof. Inside the walls are curved, and there are no sharp edges. Inside there are scale models of 25 important Porsche models and full size versions of the current model range. 

The building was selected from 350 submissions in the category. Porsche's prize will be awarded at the Paris Motor Show. 

Autostadt is located on the Volkswagen Group headquarter's campus in Wolfsburg. Each of group's brands has a pavillion where it presents the brand's philosophy.
