to deal with low European demand. Since September, Porsche has been running eight extra shifts a month on Saturdays to build the 911.

The end of weekend work means that Porsche's Zuffenhausen factory will only be open Monday through Friday. Porsche is further considering instituting seven-hour shifts at the Zuffenhausen factory to further decrease production.

Now, Porsche runs two, eight-hour shifts a day at the Zuffenhausen factory to build about 170 911s a day.

On the other hand, Porsche added a third shift to the Leipzig factory that builds the CayenneCayenne Gen.2Porsche Cayenne Gen.2Germany, 2010 > 201727 versions

and has extended the shift for another six months. It builds 480 cars a day there.
