It brings the total number of 911 TurboPorsche 911 TurboGermany, 2013 > present variants up to four. The cars will make their world debut at the LA Auto Show on November 20.
The cars combine Porsche’s 3.8-liter turbocharged flat six engine with the modified turbo body and Cabriolet drop top. The basic turbo engine puts out 514hp (520ps), and the Turbo S has 553hp (560ps). The standard turbo hits 100km/h in 3.5 seconds, and the Turbos S takes 3.2 seconds. Both have a top speed of 318km/h (198mph). Both engines use 9.9l/100km and emit 231g/km of CO2.
The cars in North America has slightly different gearing to accelerate to 60mph in 3.3 seconds for the standard turbo and 3.1 seconds for the S, but the top speed is 195mph. They will use 17mpg city and 24mpg highway.
The bodies carry the changes from the Turbo coupes with rear fenders 28mm wider (1.1in) than the Carrera 4. The convertible top is housed in a magnesium frame to keep weight down. It can be opened and closed in 13 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h (30mph).
Both cars also get standard all-wheel drive with rear-wheel steering and active aerodynamics.
Deliveries of the turbo convertibles will begin in December for €174,431 for the Turbo Cabriolet and €207,989 for the Turbo S Cabriolet, prices include 19% German VAT. North America will have to wait until early 2014, and prices for the standard turbo will begin at $160,700 and $193,900 for the Turbo S. A destination charge of $950 will be added to both cars in the United States.
