. To improve the car for the upcoming season, Porsche widened the front and rear fenders to improve traction. The track is 50mm wider than before. The wheelbase is also stretched by 10mm.
The body gets new front bumper panels, new sill covers, reformed rear panel, changed underbody, a redesigned rear diffuser and larger rear wing to improve aerodynamics. The wheels have been widened from 10.9in to 12in.
Balance of performance rules keep the 4.0-liter flat-six with a maximum of 500hp. Power goes through a six-speed sequential gearbox with a throttle blip function. Depending on series rules, the new GT3 R also comes with traction control and ABS.
The car is offered either as a whole or as an upgrade kit. Complete cars start at €280,000, but the upgrade kit costs €45,500.
