Saab was forced to cease all production this week after certain suppliers halted supplies in regards to “discussions about payments and supply terms”.
According to a press release from Saab’s owner, Spyker, the company expects the issues will be resolved soon in order to prevent further supply disruptions. The statement also claims the Saab will be able to pay off its short-term debt, but remains uncertain about the future of the company’s financial security.
It reads: “Saab Automobile has sufficient means to meet its immediate liquidity needs from existing and available sources. In addition, Saab Automobile continues to work on longer term solutions to further strengthen its financial position and improve its capital structure.”
Production resumed later in the week.
