will unveil at the Frankfurt Motor Show a more powerful version of the
Leon. With 290hp, the new
Leon Cupra 290 hits the market before the end of the year and promises to take the performance of the Leon to whole new levels.
The Leon Cupra 290 comes equipped with a 2.0 turbo petrol engine with 290hp approaching Seat to models like the
Golf R or
Ford Focus ST. The increased power found on the Cupra 290 also overtakes the Renault Megane 275.
Equipped with the DSG transmission the Leon Cupra 290 can reach 100km/h in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h. The consumption with the automatic transmission is set at 6.6l/100km, while with
manual gearbox it is set at 6.7l/100km. CO2 emissions are 149 and 156g/km respectively.
Sporting and dynamic characteristics of the Cupra 290 can be further enhanced with the Sub8 package that includes larger brakes, new tires and a unique steering wheel.
Like its predecessor, the new Leon Cupra 290 also receives differential mechanical locking on the front axle. In terms of standard equipment the 290 includes new sports seats, one infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touch screen with satellite navigation and even new ambient lighting.
