Stirling Moss Describes Vettel as 'Modern Fangio'

Stirling Moss never managed to win a Formula 1 World Championship but had a string of second place finishes from 1955 to 1958. From 1955 to 1957 those finishes were behind iconic Formula 1 champion Juan Manuel Fangio. Now Moss is comparing current F1 champ Sebastian Vettel to Fangio.

"Vettel is a modern Fangio, really, in Formula 1. I can't see, other than his natural ability, how he is that good, how he can be that good. I think Vettel is quite outstanding, but then he has got the best car, which is fair enough because normally the best driver gets the best car," said Moss.

He went on to say that he believes that Vettel is better than Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton. He believes that Hamilton is better pure driver, but Button is a better strategist.

"Where we're lucky is that Vettel has a great sense of humor. He is a damn good world champion. I can think of a lot of other people who get to that position and they don't give back as much as they get out, but he really does," said Moss about Vettel.
